Public Health is very important to how a child develops. Even though all these public health measures play an important role, immunizations is the most important to me. I feel that immunizations can prevent children from different diseases and it also can help them overcome many diseases. Children in the United States are required to have many immunizations throughout their life. Children need them immunizations before they start school. Many religions don't believe in giving their children immunizations.
Immunizations in France is quite different from the United States. In 2018, parents in France will be legally obliged to vaccinate their children. Only three vaccines, for diphtheria, tetanus, and polio, are the only ones currently mandatory in France. Others, like hepatitis and whopping cough are only recommended, Unlike in the U.S. hepatitis and whopping cough is required.

Childbirth In Your Life and Around the World
One birth that I have had experience with is my daughter's birth on January 23,2017. I was always the one saying," I don't want any kids", because I've always wanted to adopt. When I found out I was pregnant I was in complete shock. Before going into labor, I didn't know what to except. Approximately 4:15 A.M. my water broke, but I wasn't sure if I was in labor, because I wasn't any pain. Then, two hours later the pain hit me all at once. I arrived at the hospital at approximately 9:30 A.M.. I was glad I pre-registered because I didn't have to wait for a room, my room was already reserved. When the nurse checked me, I was four centimeters dilated. The pain started to get worse, I immediately asked for the epidural, that was the best life saver ever. At 3:15 P.M. I delivered a healthy baby girl weighing 5lbs 7oz. During birth the pain was unbearable, but at the end it was well worth all the pain I went through. After giving birth I can say I never want anymore kids. Giving birth can be a life-death situation. Giving birth has a big impact child development. That's why it is good to go to all prenatal doctor visits, exercise, eat healthy, and most of all take vitamins. This can ensure you that your child will be well developed when he or she is born.
Pregnancy in India is quite different from the US. Women are told not to eat hot foods, because they're harmful, and cold foods are recommended to avoid miscarriages. Hot foods are only encouraged during the last stage to facilitate labor. Women from lower socioeconomic classes may continue with their daily routine, but women of higher socioeconomic are nurtured by their families. After birth the placenta may be buried under the floor of the room where the birth occurred, or the courtyard of the house. They bury the placenta to keep an enemy or evil spirit from it.

My Supports
Support in this field is very essential. Being a teacher can become very hard at times. We as teachers, have to deal with different people and attitudes everyday. So, support is what we need to make it through. My support comes from my mom, colleagues, administrator, and any training material. My mom always give me motivation to finish any task that I'm trying to accomplish. With me being a new single mother, it can get hard at times, with me going to school and working full-time. My colleagues and I always motivating each other everyday. It seem as if,, everyday we have a new procedure or rule change. That's why it's good to be able to adapt to change. My administrator of the schools always gives us daily encouragement throughout the day. Training is very essential when you are a teacher. There is never too much information that you can learn. For example, is you are dealing with a child with bad behavior, you look up resources to see how to deal with that situation. Without support, I feel it would be very difficult to get through the day. Everyone needs support in whatever they do.
One challenge that I choose is not having any support. Support is an extra motivator to get through a task or a difficult time. Support can also help you got hat extra mile and give you extra strength to pull through.

My Connections to Play
When I was growing up, play wasn't as predominant as it is now in the early childhood field. I can remember being in Pre-K, we did more work at our desk than we played. Unless, you went to a Headstart setting, then more play was required. I think most teachers back in the day believed to have a traditional classroom, where the students sit at their desk most of the day. In this day and time, since technology is more predominant most teachers use a Promethean board to teach their lessons. This has benefited the children a lot in the classroom, since they're teach savvy in this decade. This allows kids to do more interactive techniques.
Play is more predominant now because of the many researches that have took place, to see does play benefit the child. A child can learn so much through play. The main thing a child learns through play is how to interact with others. Social skills is the most important skill any child can develop. I think play should be involved in every classroom. This allows the child to be who they want to be and be able to express their feelings how they would like. It also allows the teacher to do more observations on children to get better understanding on what they know, what they can do, and what they're thinking.

Relationship Reflection
Relationships are important to me, because it helps me when I have hard times in my life. My mother and I have a very strong relationship with each other. With me being the only child, we tend to do everything together. When I am having a difficult time, I always turn her for advice or a shoulder to cry on. Although, sometimes I like to keep my feelings inside, because you cant trust everyone with your business, but I know my mom will never tell my darkest secret. Another person I have a positive relationship with is my cousin Larita. She's a good listener. She might not tell me what I want to hear, but what I need to hear. She's always keeping me on track with my goals I want to achieve. Sometimes being a single mother gets hard, but she always send me an encouraging message every morning to go the extra mile for my daughter.
The relationship with my mom and cousin are very essential in my life. Both relationships have trust and honesty. These two factors are very important to maintain a good relationship with each other.
Developing a relationship with my mom took some time when I was younger, I was scared to talk to her about certain situations. I didn't know how she would respond or would her respond be to harsh to were I couldn't take it. As I got older and went off to college our relationship became stronger and I was able to talk to her more about different things. The relationship with my cousin has been strong since we were in high school. She always been my go to person when I needed to talk. We had one disagreement where we stopped talking to each other for about two months. I was in this situation, and I went to her asking for advice, the whole time I knew she was telling me the truth but I didn't want to accept the truth. At the time, I thought she was jealous of the relationship I was in with this guy.
My experience with these relationships can have a impact with the families I am involved with in my classroom. Parents need someone they can trust in order for them to open up to total stranger. Trust is the main thing most parents look for within the teacher. Trust is hard to come by, and shouldn't be broken.

When I think of Child Development
"Children must be taught how to think, not what to think." -Margaret Mead
I love this quote because, most of the time children are sometime taught what to think and how to do certain things. We as educators, should be teaching them how to think during certain situations. We have to realize that each child as their own way of thinking and have their own way of doing certain things.
I want to thank my student adviser, this year hasn't been a great year for me, due to my house catching on fire. I'm thankful that my family wasn't home at the time, but we lost everything. My adviser has been keeping in touch with me every since this has happened, giving me encouraging words or just asking how everyone was doing.

Testing for Intelligence
I think every child should be assessed in school. This will give the teacher a synopsis of where the student stand. This will let the teacher know, what the student know and don't know. I feel every student should be assessed at least twice a year; so they can keep track of the student progress.
The Chinese education system consists of six years of primary school, three lower secondary, and three upper secondary school. At the age of 15, they have the option of leaving school or go to a upper secondary school. All students attend an academic lower secondary school, at the end of which they take a locally administered entrance exam for upper secondary school. Depending on the results of this exam, they may enter an academic or a vocational upper secondary school, or they may choose to end their formal education. Chinese students receive formative assessments throughout their education. These typically take the form of year-end or term-end tests as well as casual assessment from teachers. They are also required to take graduation examinations at the end of primary, lower secondary and upper secondary school, in addition to the entrance examinations for the next level of schooling.
